Procesoare pentru notebook-uri in 2018 – scurt ghid explicativ, de la Kaby Lake R la Whiskey Lake
Terminologie Intel
Inainte sa trecem mai departe si sa vedem ce modele Intel sunt lansate deja, dar si ce modele vor fi lansate in curand pe piata, trebuie sa discutam putin despre terminologia utilizata de Intel in denumirea procesoarelor. Astfel, denumirea procesorului este alcatuita din brand (Core, Pentium, Celeron sau Atom) si familie (i7, i5, i3, m3, etc) – de exemplu Intel Core i7, sau Intel Pentium G. Urmeaza apoi 4 cifre, dintre care prima indica generatia si celelalte 3 indica modelul. Apoi este utilizat un sufix, pentru a indentifica seria din care face parte modelul.
Din acest punct de vedere, terminologia nu s-a schimbat foarte mult fata de generatiile anterioare, cu cateva exceptii notabile. In primul rand, seria Y nu mai este marcata distinct, cei de la Intel renuntand la terminologia de tipul “Intel Core i7 7Y75”. Acum, viitoarele procesoare din gama Y vor purta pur si simplu acest sufix, la fel ca si celelalte serii.
In al doilea rand, s-au schimbat seriile. HK (high performance cu multiplicator deblocat) este acum un sufix rezervat procesoarelor din familia Core i9, in timp ce H reprezinta in continuare procesoarele high performance (sau high performance graphics cum le numesc cei de la Intel). Totusi, odata cu aparitia procesoarelor cu 6 nuclee pe notebook-uri, au disparut modelele HQ, logic, daca ne gandim ca sufix-ul Q insemna “quad-core”.
Oricum, procesoarele din seriile HK si H sunt binecunoscute utilizatorilor, fiind vorba despre modele cu un TDP de 45W, pe care le gasim in general pe notebook-urile de gaming. Similar, procesoarele din seria U (ultra low-power) au un TDP cuprins intre 15 si 28W si pot fi intalnite pe ultraportabile.
Chiar daca s-a schimbat terminologia, procesoarele din seria Y nu sunt ceva nou pentru consumatori, acestea avand un TDP de 5W si fiind in general utilizate in tablete sau microPC-uri. Anul acesta insa, si-au facut aparitia doua noi serii, una pentru notebook-uri si una pentru sisteme de mici dimensiuni, dar care intra, conform celor de la Intel, tot in familia mobile.
Ma refer aici la seria G, alcatuita din procesoare Kaby Lake R montate pe acelasi PCB cu o solutie grafica Radeon Vega, procesoarele din seria G avand TDP-uri de 65 sau 100W. Aceastea au fost anuntate in Ianuarie 2018, insa pana in momentul de fata nu am intalnit nici un notebook echipat cu asa ceva.
Seria B este o alta noutate si chiar daca in general nu veti intalni aceste procesoare pe notebook-uri, ele sunt incluse de catre cei de la Intel in familia mobile. In principiu, este vorba despre procesoare cu aceleasi specificatii ca si modelele omonime de pe platforma desktop, cu exceptia socket-ului, procesoarele din seria B fiind soldered pe socket-ul FCBGA1440. Acestea sunt procesoare cu un TDP de 65W, gandite pentru PC-uri puternice de mici dimensiuni.
